Speed is a relative thing, just look at history
The ancient people didn’t see it as a mystery
They knew that their feet didn’t have the juice
So they dreamt of gods with winged boots

They captured horses out on the plains
Tamed speed with saddles and with reins
Built ships that sliced through sea and spray
Getting faster, every day

And when they hit that limit where
Flesh would fail, canvas would tear

Motorcycles, air-o-planes

Fighter jets, rocket ships
Fast enough now for lunar trips

So now let me tell you about my own experience with speed

I used to live in a lofty place

So they pushed me out and I fell
